Pandemic and adequacy of the rule making powers of the European supervisory authorities

Resumen:

Il propagarsi della pandemia al livello mondiale, oltre a porre in serio pericolo la salute degli individui, ha messo in profonda crisi i sistemi economici. Al fine di fronteggiare il diffondersi del COVID-19, infatti, gli Stati hanno fortemente limitato le attività produttive generando una paralisi dell’economia reale che non ha tardato a ripercuotere i suoi effetti anche nell’ambito dei mercati regolamentati. Il presente lavoro analizza, proprio alla luce delle peculiari problematiche introdotte dalla pandemia, l’adeguatezza dei poteri regolatori riconosciuti alle Autorità europee di supervisione.

Abstract:

The spread of the pandemic worldwide, in addition to seriously endangering the health of individuals, has put economic systems in serious crisis. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, in fact, the world's states have severely limited the production activities generating real economic paralysis that has not been slow to pass on its effects also in the context of regulated markets. This work analyzes, precisely in light of the particular problems introduced by the pandemic, the adequacy of the regulatory powers recognized to the European Supervisory Authorities.
