About the legal regulation of assisted human reproduction techniques

Resumen:
El presente estudio se ocupa en primer lugar del concepto, origen y alcance de las técnicas de reproducción humana (TRA) que cobraron una particular dinámica a partir de la fecundación extracorpórea in vitro (FIV) y se ofrecieron inicialmente como una terapia para las parejas infértiles para apuntar posteriormente, al amparo de legislaciones permisivas, hacia modos alternativos de reproducción humana.

Abstract:
This study deals with the concept, origin and scope of assisted reproduction techniques (ART), following the impact of the introduction of in vitro fertilisation (IVF). ART were initially offered as a form of therapy for infertile couples only to become later the means to develop alternative forms of human reproduction under the protection of permissive legislation.
